Job description
About us
Our studio's mission is to create the best educational/entertaining content that stops folks from falling prey to those "get rich quick" gurus.
After successfully building and exiting a previous business, our Founders, created a YouTube channel called ‘The Contreprenuer’, aiming to shed light on the real deal behind running a business and expose the shadiness of those promising the world.
The channel has nearly hit 100k subscribers (you’ll help us get our studio play button) and has since developed into a podcast, newsletter and active community.
When we’re not making our own content, we're in the business of helping clients produce podcasts and videos that people genuinely want to watch. This fuels our mission and bolsters our brand.
Our claim to fame? We’ve made it to Netflix, Times Magazine, and Warrington Worldwide (ok, we haven’t been featured in Warrington Worldwide yet, but we can dream).
Now, typically, job ads go on about wanting someone who's all gung-ho to be part of a dynamic team. But honestly, if you're an editing master, you can keep to yourself if that floats your boat. We're a tight-knit bunch who treat our team members like adults. We get that life's tough enough without forcing you into team-building events.
We're a studio on the rise, so if you're on the hunt for a substantial new role to either kickstart your career or notch up another achievement on your portfolio bedpost, this could be the gig for you.
Our studio is growing, so we’re looking for a talented video editor to join our team. While we're based in the North West of England, for the right individual, we're open to a fully remote arrangement.
What You’ll Be Doing
You'll help us edit videos that will be seen by hundreds of thousands of people around the world.
- Editing Long-Form Video: Our videos can range from 2 to 30 minutes, depending on the topic. They're usually uploaded to YouTube. You'll work closely with our video team and designers to bring storyboards and assets to life in the video. Our editing standards are high, but we expect the new hire to challenge us and bring creative ideas to the table.
- Editing Shorts: Shorts for both YouTube and other platforms play a crucial role in our growth, for our internal content and our clients' content. We have certain ideas about how shorts should look, and we'll teach you our in-house tricks. However, we're open to new ideas and styles you can introduce to the team.
- Repurposing Existing Video: We have an extensive backlog of content that needs to be transformed into clips for our sales and marketing team to use on social media.
- Editing Educational Resources: We initially started by creating educational courses, and with an active community hungry for more, you'll help us build video courses that people genuinely want to watch.
- Providing Ad-Hoc Team Support: We intentionally keep our team small, so occasionally, you'll be asked to lend a hand in other departments or activities, such as assisting with a major shoot.
- Developing Our In-House Video Style: We consume a lot of content and continuously adapt our styles to ensure our videos are top-notch. So, we fully expect you to contribute to our brand's growth and leave your mark on our channel and in-house style.
Requirements
- You're a pro with Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro (preferably both), and you'll bring your expertise in motion graphics with tools like After Effects, DaVinci or Motion.
- You'll replicate and elevate our existing tone and style in all your work.
- While you'll have support, we need someone who enjoys the freedom to dive into an edit and hit the ground running.
- You're the type who can thrive in a small team and won't break a sweat when a project's direction changes or when we decide to swap a project for something more exciting.
- You'll excel at meeting shared deadlines and ensuring content is ready to roll when it's needed.
Bonus Superpower
- You can animate, storyboard or know how to work a camera.
Perks of the Job
- Paid leave that increases the longer you stay with us.
- You’ll be working on content that will be seen by hundreds of thousands of people, and one day millions.
- You’ll be treated like an adult and left alone to get work done.
