Job description
We’re looking for a Video Content Lead to join our fast-paced digital content team to innovate and drive our video content forward. You will be a senior manager within the digital content team, providing direction and leadership for a small team of videographers.
This will be a hands-on role, where you will still play an active part in developing videos to support the department’s work. You will develop clear workflows for the production team, ensuring the team meet deadline and resource is allocated where appropriate.
You will also work closely with special advisors, communications, and policy colleagues to ensure we are communicating messages in the right way. You will work closely with the Secretary of State and Ministers and have the confidence to help shape and direct content that will help us reach our target audiences.
You will have experience of using insight to assess the effectiveness of content and channels used, drawing conclusions to improve digital communication and the user experience.
As part of the role, you will be required to attend visits and filming locations so there will be a travel element involved which may also include international travel as well as national travel around the UK.
Out of hours working is also a key feature of this role as you will be required to accompany Ministers on visits and complete videos to tight deadlines.

- Lead the team to deliver professional video content to a high standard building trusted relationships and working closely with senior stakeholders to deliver innovative and creative video products.
- Proactively recommend filming opportunities and creative approaches which you and your team will develop at pace into high quality videos for channels.
- Accompany colleagues, senior stakeholders, and Ministers on visits to deliver high quality video products.
- Work closely with the Strategy and Design leads to ensure we are developing content with channels/audience in mind and brand guidelines are met, covering their remits during absences.
- Draw on knowledge of emerging trends in digital and social media to ensure content is innovative and consistent, being alert to emerging issues which might impact or benefit this work.
- Use insight gained to assess the effectiveness of content used on social/digital media channels and to recognise patterns and trends, drawing key conclusions to help improve the impact of our digital communication.

About You
You will be confident when communicating with senior stakeholders. You will be proactive, adaptable and flexible. You will You will be aware of the current news agenda using judgement to inform video production ideas and being receptive if changes are needed.
You will have the experience of managing a small team where you can lead and utilise resources and the skillsets to achieve objectives. You can work at pace and will have the ability to managing conflicting tasks. You will have experience of using Adobe suite software.

Please tailor your CV to suit the role. For your Personal Statement, please provide detailed evidence of the following:
- Experience of project managing and developing high-quality video content to tight deadlines using Adobe suite experience, in particular Premiere Pro, After Effects and Illustrator
- Proven experience of line management and leadership, overseeing an individual’s work schedule and professional development
- Ability to work at pace, respond quickly, flexibly, and imaginatively to events and prioritise under pressure juggling both immediate and long-term projects based on conflicting demands
- Experience and understanding of monitoring, analysing, and evaluating digital content success and using insight to inform future content development and distribution
- Presenting and communicating in formal and informal settings to a wide range of audiences
- Experience of working with senior stakeholders.
