About This Role
Responsibilities
Strategic Development
- Developing multi-year strategies in pursuit of Very becoming the preeminent Commercial and Industrial IoT solution provider in the United States.
- Regularly evaluating our capabilities against market expectations and driving improvements across our strategic differentiators.
- Partnering with your technical directors annually on build, buy, or partner strategies in pursuit of strengthening their department’s offering.
Direct Management of the Team of Directors Overseeing the Following
- Engineering: Includes Hardware, Software, and Data Science
- Program Management
- Product Management
- Product Design
- Information Security
Accountable for Departmental Efficiency, Utilization, and Stable Growth
As a client services organization, travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
What is Delivery at Very?
Software Development: Front End, Back End, Mobile, Cloud / Infra, DevOps, QA
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience delivering cross-functional solutions involving hardware, software, design, and data science
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership capacity at a tech services company
- A Master’s or PhD in a related technical field (preferably in Hardware or Software Engineering)
Required
- Proven ability to motivate, inspire, and influence technical teams
- Proven ability to think strategically over a multi-year time horizon
- Excellent project management and written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing hardware and software teams of at least 50 individuals
Nice-to-have
- Experience managing programs that leverage Edge Computing
- Experience managing programs that require custom PCB layout and Electrical Engineering
- Experience managing product teams
