About the Role:
What You'll Do
- Lead Craft’s Engineering teams in building and maintaining a best-in-class Supplier Intelligence Platform that continues to deliver trustworthy, delightful, and constantly evolving functionality to our users
- Develop organizational-level goals and drive the technical and organizational roadmap for Craft’s various Engineering teams
- Identify and execute the processes needed to achieve operational excellence in all areas, including project management and system reliability
- Balance the teams' work to add new features and pay down tech debt to ensure an efficient, stable, and marketable suite
- Build credibility with engineers, lead technical reviews and discussions, ensure best practices are developed and enforced, and advocate for the needs of the engineers
- Develop a team structure that is inclusive, thoughtful and efficient
- Partner closely with the VP, Product to develop the vision for our product offering and ensure that the software architecture is designed for the near and long term
- Influence key decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions
- Iterate quickly without compromising quality and raise the bar on operational excellence
- Create timelines and budget for the development, timely delivery, and deployment of all large scale engineering initiatives
- Evaluate technology and vendors, always looking for ways to improve the way we build products
- Partner closely with People Team to advise on recruitment and retention of top engineering talent
- Be a steward of the Craft culture: exemplify our core values and maintain an inclusive environment within and beyond the engineering team
Who You Are
- A seasoned technology leader with experience in an early-stage, growth-minded Enterprise SaaS organization: you know what it takes to both scale and sustain high performing teams
- Vision & Direction: You have experience leading an organization and understand how to build roadmaps that directly contribute to the success of company objectives
- A problem solver, able to balance competing priorities, strong process orientation and ability to manage through complexity and rapid change
- Excellent managerial skills and interpersonal skills: You can effectively communicate and collaborate with all areas of engineering and interact and work with staff at all levels
- Influence: You build strong relationships through your expertise and align your team and stakeholders to what’s best for Craft
- Deep understanding of software engineering and architecture - you’ve been a developer in the past but are focused on leadership now
- Domain expertise in supply chain, prescriptive analytics solutions, procurement or risk
- Experience partnering with cross-functional leaders across a globally distributed organization and exercising sound judgment
- Experience working in agile methodologies
- Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments
- Hands-on, "can do" attitude and a bias for action; gets it done, on time every time without cutting corners
- Low ego and high intellectual curiosity
