Job Description

In this role, you will lead Morgan Health’s proactive, external communications strategy to build a healthcare brand that is associated with innovation in employer-sponsored healthcare and position Morgan Health as a savvy investor and creative problem solver that drives toward practical, as well as enduring, changes to a broken system.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Vice President, you will report to the Head of Morgan Health Communications and will work closely with executives across Morgan Health, HR Benefits, Corporate Responsibility, and other JPMC lines of business. You will play a strategic role in overseeing, developing, and executing communications strategies across earned, owned, and marketing channels. Objectives include:

  • Drive recognition and awareness of Morgan Health as a thought leader driving meaningful improvements in healthcare outcomes, equity, and affordability to its employees
  • Position Morgan Health’s team of healthcare investors, innovators, and experts as leaders in the industry and collaborators with other industry players, policymakers, and the government to advance improvements in employee-sponsored healthcare
  • Promote and educate stakeholders on Morgan Health’s progress and developments (e.g., investments, pilot programs for employees, data and insights), and communicate a clear point of view about health system change from the perspective of a large employer
  • Advance a proactive communications approach while taking advantage of opportunistic and reactive opportunities that align with Morgan Health’s overall objectives
  • Advance discussion and attention to priority areas (e.g., primary care, navigation) through thought leadership strategy such as social media and speaking engagements
  • Coordinate with External Affairs to promote priorities, which include policy advocacy and government relations, advancement of our health equity initiatives and stakeholder engagement with a cross-section of industry leaders

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:

  • 8 plus years of related public relations work experience with a in a consulting, provider, payor, government agency or on Capitol Hill; B.A. required, advanced degree preferred
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding writer, proofreader and copy editor; experience writing in the healthcare industry is a plus. Comfortable working and communicating with professionals at all levels. Experience presenting and interacting directly with senior executives as well as external partners. Communications Campaign Experience: Track record of creating, developing, and executing compelling PR campaigns with measurable results.
  • Builds Relationships and Collaborates: Naturally connects and builds strong relationships with others, demonstrating strong emotional intelligence and an ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across a large and complex organization.
  • Self Starter: Proven ability to partner effectively and influence outcomes without direct authority. Willingly does what is required to deliver a superior product.
  • Project and People Management Skills: Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with varying deadlines and stakeholders. Matrixed team management experience.
  • Analytic Mindset: Strong analytic and problem-solving skills with sound judgment and collaborative decision-making expertise.
  • Healthcare Communications Expertise: proven experience in healthcare communications (e.g., employer benefits, payors, healthcare providers, and/or point solutions for employers). Passion for the Patient: Passion for improving health outcomes and the patient experience. Making it better for everyone.
