This role would ideally suit a solicitor who wants to either move in-house, or to progress their in-house career. The legal team is growing quickly and this is an ideal opportunity for a suitable candidate to learn valuable new skills and gain top quality experience with the support and infrastructure of the wider J.P. Morgan network. . This role will enhance the career of any lawyer, but the ideal candidate will be someone who wants to develop his/her career within the Global Shares Group and indeed within J.P. Morgan.
Job responsibilities
- Work as part of a dynamic legal team in an innovative and fast-growing global Fintech group
- Assist in advising in relation to issues such as commercial contracts, licensing, regulation and data protection.
- Supporting the Global Shares Business win new mandates and maintain and enhance existing client relationships
- Monitoring relevant regulatory and legal developments impacting the business
- Drafting and contributing to legal policies and procedures relevant to the business
- Ensuring that continuing professional development is maintained
- Handling a variety of general corporate and corporate governance matters
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Qualified Solicitor with relevant experience either in private practice or in an in-house role
- Experience providing clear, practical advice to clients with strong commercial awareness. Ability to manage multiple matters in a busy working environment
- A high standard of drafting correspondence, agreements, and research reports
- A willingness to work closely with non-legal colleagues in an informal environment is essential. You must be open to work outside your comfort zone and to constantly learn and master new areas of law
- Strong IT Skills including competency in Microsoft applications and experience of case management systems
- Experience in some or all of: Commercial Contracts, Software Contracts, IP/IT, Data Protection, Trusts, Company Law and Company Secretarial
- Experience with corporate group structures and/or company secretarial requirements. Experience of regulatory compliance and/or risk management
