The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team here at Mount Road Vets!Duties will include:
- Undertake all general nursing duties within the practice and Nurse appointments.
- Participate with the admission and discharge process of patients, the accuracy of which is of vital importance.
- Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of the premises and patient areas and particularly the clinical areas with regular cleaning/routine care of all equipment to include the correct methods of sterilisation and reporting any faults or damage.
- Administer treatment ( e.g injections, medications, fluid therapy and dressings) and dispense medication as instructed by the veterinary surgeon all in accordance with professional guidelines and practice policies.
- Ensure you keep accurate records with regards to medical records, anaesthetic sheets, hospitalisation forms etc.
- Maintain accurate client and patient records.
- Ensure effective stock rotation/replenishment where applicable.
- To demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development.
- Understand and implement practice and group policies.
- Take an active role in the training programme of veterinary nurses and animal care/ kennel assistants.

Salary for the role is up to £30,000 depending on experience.

Mount Road Vets are a long established, well-respected 1st opinion practice in the heart of the community within 4 miles of lively central Manchester. Will a huge and loyal client base you will have a fantastic case lead with a varied mix of consults and surgery. We are in the fortunate position of being able to offer fully flexible rotas including full time, part time, flexitime, and a bespoke rota to fit around childcare and school holidays etc. We have good facilities including a digital x-ray, ultrasound and in-house lab.We are a small animal practice located very centrally in Manchester. We’re based in a terraced building with a very homely feel, within a lively city.
We’re fortunate to have very loyal clients, including some that have been coming here for over 40 years, and we work hard to deliver a service that's the best it can be, and that’s affordable for our clients. We are a big part of the community and are very proud of our reputation. Career progression is a big priority for us. Applicant Requirements
We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse who has confidence in their abilities.Position provides you with the opportunity to develop nursing clinics and use your initiative to promote new ideas and set a high vet standard for the practice.
The candidate must be happy to be the sole nurse whilst on shift with the Vet and Support Staff. We would like someone who will be proactive in helping to improve our clinical standards, who isn't afraid to get stuck in with us, and can cope well under pressure as we are a busy little practice.
