The Role

We have an exciting opening for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team at White Cross Tividale in the West Midlands. The role is full time, 40 hours over a 4 day week, however we are happy to offer part time hours and flexible working also for the right candidate. You will be required to participate in a Saturday morning rota and there is no out-of-hours requirement for this role. The role could suit someone looking to progress to a senior role although this is not essential.

About Us

Our Tividale Practice is ideally situated in the West Midlands. With great links to the whole country you are never far from anywhere with places like the Peaks, the Lakes, the Cotswolds and coast driveable in 3 hours or less. The major city of Birmingham, with its vibrant hustle and bustle, is less than 30 minutes journey away by car or train. For those that prefer the outdoors, the countryside is easily accessible in all directions.

We opened in 2013 and are a small animal only practice. We are equipped with a great quality ultrasound machine, multi-parameter monitoring and digital x-ray (including dental). We recently achieved our silver cat-friendly status. The prep area is the heart of the building with separate dog and cat wards, an operating theatre and x-ray/ultrasound room branching off. There are 3 consulting rooms with access to dispensary and our lab area complete with the full IDEXX Blood machine range and microscope. We have a separate team room with comfy sofas so you can relax on your breaks.

We'd like someone who is happy with most aspects of general practice – both consulting and surgery. You must also be confident with sole charge working although this is kept to a minimum as much as possible. In this role you will be required to provide high-quality clinical care to all pets whilst ensuring an outstanding client experience and to help to create and maintain an efficient clinic. The diary is sensibly managed meaning we leave on time with consults finishing half an hour before the end of shift, and there is time factored into the day for case work ups and phone calls.

About the Team and Culture

The team and working environment is very important to us at Tividale and we are looking for someone to join us who shares that same ethos. We are a close-knit, team who really enjoy working together. We currently have 2 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Veterinary Care Assistant and 3 Client Care Coordinators.

We make time during working hours each month for our team to spend time with one another in wellbeing sessions. Recent sessions at Tividale included playing games, carving pumpkins, watching Cool Runnings and being creative with cupcakes. We like to celebrate personal wins and reward our people. • Experience in a Small Animal practice
• RCVS registered
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team
