Job description
Job Description
- Salary £50K (this is negotiable depending on experience)
- Certification encouraged and funded
- A flexible rota to work for you
- Friendly, caring, ambitious team
We are a team of 2 vets, 2 RVNs, 2 SVNs, VCA and experienced reception team led by our JVP Jo, who has 23 years of experience in both mixed and small animal practice and has interests in cardiology and ultrasonography. Many of our team members have been with us a number of years creating a really friendly, caring, supportive atmosphere. We are proud of the close ties we have to the community and welcome a diverse client base including many highly respected members of the armed forces, their families, and locals. We are family(people) orientated and have genuine empathy for our patients and our clients shown through some of our ‘out of work commitments’ for example, Vicki, one of our receptionists, annually volunteers as a poppy co-ordinator in November.
As an established growing practice we are lucky to see a variety of cases, the majority of which can be worked up in house. This is both due to the wealth of experience in our team and through welcoming a visiting orthopaedic surgeon when needed. We have the caseload to support certification and are open to any clinical interests you may have.
Ideally we are looking for someone to take a full time role but are open to discussing part time hours. Some sole charge will be required so you will need to be confident with this. Our day to day consists of consults and surgery and our rota is flexible in order to cater to our team’s life commitments. Our diary is arranged so that our vets have the time, and get the continuity they need, to work-up cases from start to finish to the high standard we pride ourselves on. We are open Monday – Friday 9am to 7pm, and Saturday 9am – 6pm with consults finishing in plenty of time to make sure our team leave on time. We are closed on Sundays and no OOHs will be required. We are looking for someone to be part of our Saturday rota.
We are a growing practice, and whilst we want our team to enjoy a relaxed, caring work environment and have a work-life balance with the flexibility that suits them as individuals, we are also ambitious in striving to always do the best for our patients, providing a professional service and continuing to grow and develop. We are looking for our new team member to share in this motivation, commitment to care and forward-thinking attitude.
Our spacious in-store, single site practice is based in Catterick Garrison on a recently built town centre shopping area which has most of the big name shops, supermarkets, a seven screen cinema, hotels and plenty of coffee shops and restaurants. Directly behind the practice is a brand new sports centre, pool and gym. We are also located a stone’s through from the beautiful Yorkshire Dales towns of Richmond and Ripon and being just four miles off the A1 we have great transport links as well.
- Salary: £50K (this is negotiable DOE)
- Generous CPD allowance
- No OOH
- Fully funded visa sponsorship
- Relocation package (if applicable)
- Exclusive company discounts and rewards - including 20% off at Pets at Home and the Vet Group.
- AXA private healthcare
- 5.5 weeks holiday
