The Role
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our team here at Stocks Veterinary Centre. The role will involve a mixture of consulting and operating with minimal sole charge and can be tailored to accommodate individual interests.
Full time Vets work 40 hours per week over 4 days with two early finishes (17:00pm or 17.30pm) and two late finishes (19.00pm). Full time Vets get at least one three-day weekend every six weeks. All of our Vets work one Saturday morning in three, alternating between our Upton Upon Severn and Lower Wick sites. Out of hours is covered by Vets Now Worcester. With over half of our team being working mums, we try very hard to be flexible and will happily consider part time applicants.
The salary will be up to £63,000 depending on experience.
About Us
Our main site is in Upton upon Severn in an old GP surgery. We are ISFM Silver accredited with separate dog and cat waiting areas, three consulting rooms and separate dog and cat wards. There is a large prep area and separate theatre with with piped oxygen to all clinical areas. We have a full inhouse lab, laparoscopy, endoscopy, ultrasound, digital xrays and dental xrays.
Our branch practice at Lower Wick has two consulting rooms, a prep area and separate theatre.
The practice is located in a beautiful part of Worcestershire, with the Malvern Hills to the west and the Cotswolds to the east. There are good links to motorways with Bristol and Birmingham airports within a hour's drive.
Our existing team of seven Vets have over 115 years of experience between them, many of whom have been with the practice since they graduated. Three of our Vets hold certificates in internal and feline medicine and we have well established working relationships with peripatetic specialists in imaging and orthopaedics. We have eight Registered Veterinary Nurses, two Student Veterinary Nurses, and two Veterinary Care Assistants with seven Support Staff.
Our team is well established and long standing with a very low staff turnover. We are ideally positioned to support a new graduate and actively encourage and fund certificates. We are advocates for the RSPCA, Dogs Trust and GDBA.
Applicant Requirements
The successful candidate will be friendly and enthusiastic and should enjoy working as part of a team. All levels of experience will be considered, and we enjoy supporting new graduates. Part time applicants are very welcome. Candidates must be MRCVS and hold a UK driving licence.
