Grade UE06: £33,025 - £38,083 per annum (based on a 37.5 hour week, pro rata for part time positions)
CMVM / R(D)SVS / Hospital for Small Animals
Part-time: 10-hour rolling shifts worked 4 shifts on, 8 shifts off, which is equivalent to an average of 23.3 hours per week, paid overtime accrued for any additional shift cover
Shift times: 11am-10pm (with 1h unpaid lunch)

The Opportunity:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a nurse to join our established Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) nursing team here at the Hospital for Small Animals (HfSA) on a rolling rota, 4 shifts on, 8 shifts off. With the recent addition of our Emergency Room and expanding case load, we are looking for candidates who are passionate about providing state-of-the-art nursing for critically ill and emergent patients.
We are open to emergencies 24/7, so part of the role is to support the growing out of hours emergency referrals we see, involving triage, stabilisation and longer term care of our critically ill patients.

As part of this role, you will cover the annual leave for your colleagues, accruing paid overtime for all additional hours worked. Successful candidates will be highly motivated to take their career forward by helping us develop and teach critical care nursing within our hospital.
Prior nursing experience in a busy emergency room and/or in a referral hospital is preferred. An advanced diploma in veterinary nursing or advanced certificate in ECC Nursing is useful, as is previous teaching experience.

- No additional on call is required, however you will cover holidays in your pod, accruing paid overtime for any additional hours worked.

Your skills and attributes for success:
- Being an RCVS registered veterinary nurse is essential
- Excellent organisational and communications skills are essential
- Keen dedication to teaching the next generation of veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses is a must.
