Job description

Available Job Today At CVS Group we are one of the largest integrated veterinary groups in Europe with a turnover in excess of £500M, over 500 veterinary practice sites and over 8000 CVS colleagues located across the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands. Alongside veterinary practices, we also operate pet crematoria, laboratories, an e-commerce business and buying groups.

We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Locum/Temp Recruiter to join our team on an initial 9 month fixed term contract covering maternity leave.

Within this role you will be responsible for the recruitment of both Locum Vets and Nurses across the North of the country. This is a hands on role that, by the very nature of locum recruitment, requires a fast turnaround and proactive approach and therefore would best suit someone with previous experience of working within a fast paced locum or temp desk.

Upon joining, you will work as part of our locum team which includes a Locum Recruiter who supports the South of the UK, dedicated locum recruitment administration support and a Resourcer who together deliver a fantastic locum recruitment service to our colleagues across CVS.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the full end to end recruitment lifecycle for locum vets and RVNs - utilising a range of cost effective attraction channels, such as our candidate database, job board advertising, referrals and social media
  • Managing internal stakeholder relationships
  • Maintaining and building a database of locums
  • Supporting the agreement/arrangement of contracts with Ltd/Umbrella/Sole Trader locums and associated compliance activities
  • Tracking and reporting on changes within the veterinary locum market
  • Assisting in projects focused on the development of locum recruitment
  • Managing and updating the locum database (RDB)

To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • A passion for recruitment and people
  • Proven experience in recruitment, ideally gained within the veterinary sector or a clinical field, such as human healthcare
  • Knowledge of contract/locum recruitment and legislation – such as IR35
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and to multiple and changing deadlines
  • The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across all mediums

Location: This is a home based role with the possible requirement to attend other CVS sites/conferences as and when required.
