The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our Intern team at Aberdeen Veterinary Referrals. Interns play a key role within the team and benefit from being exposed to a wide variety of surgical (orthopaedic, soft tissue and neurosurgery) and medical cases. We have a positive, self-driven team who provide a supportive atmosphere for our interns. The position is ideal for Veterinary Surgeons who are keen to start studying for a certificate and we have had several prior interns who have subsequently achieved certificates or moved onto a rotating internship or residency.
About Us
We have 2 state of the art surgical theatres with positive pressure ventilation and air filtering system, diagnostic imaging suite with direct digital radiography, a permanent 16slice CT scanner and visiting MRI, high resolution screens to view radiographic and CT images during Surgery, Ultrasound, Endoscopy and Arthroscopy, Isolation ward for infectious cases and Inpatient hospitalisation wards which provide safe, warm, and comfortable accommodation.
We offer our clients services in Orthopaedics, Spinal, Neurology, Oncology, Soft tissue, and imaging. We have a fantastic team of 1 Clinical Director, 4 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 intern Veterinary Surgeon, 8 daytime Veterinary Nurses, 3 dedicated night Veterinary Nurses, 2 Veterinary Care Assistant, 1 instrument technician and 5 front of house team who all pride themselves on providing a supportive team culture.
Applicant Requirements
Our ideal candidate for this one-year Veterinary Intern position will ideally have at least one year experience in practice, although a confident new graduate would also be considered. Membership of the RCVS and excellent communication skills are also required.
