The role
The RSE is looking for an experienced Venue and Events Manager to take the lead in running our fast-paced venue based in the heart of Edinburgh on George Street.
This role will be responsible for the smooth running and management of the RSE building as a venue and events space, leased premises and workplace, with a commercial outlook, to deliver to the RSE’s Strategic Plan, values and mission.
We are looking for a talented and experienced individual to:
- Lead, manage and motivate the Venue Team that looks after venue & events bookings, reception, the building and facilities in an inclusive, supportive and empowering manner.
- Take lead responsibility for facilities within the building that support the successful delivery of all internal (RSE) and external (hosted/booked) events.
- Work with RSE colleagues and external stakeholders to create a seamless hosting space for all events, monitoring usage to enhance positive impact.
- Provide operational support in relation to maintaining the RSE property and related services, including building security.
- Ensure that the RSE building is fully functional and all personnel compliant with legal and other requirements including Health and Safety, Security, and Fire Precautions.
- Produce an annual Venue Budget with support from the Finance team.
- Manage effectively and liaise successfully with all third-party suppliers for Venue and events, Facilities, Tenants and Staff..
- Taking responsibility for all aspects of Health and Safety as the RSE’s appointed Health and Safety officer.
