WHAT TO EXPECT
We are searching for a Vehicle Dynamics Stability Control Technical Specialist. You will be joining the Vehicle Dynamics team at Jaguar Land Rover to deliver the ride, steering and handling of future world-class vehicles.
You will be responsible for delivering the stability control attribute as part of the whole vehicle's performance.
You will be a technical expert in stability controls with experience in the systems from key suppliers and knowledge of developing in-house software. This knowledge will be required to ensure the candidate can technically lead the team and business to ensure future stability system performance is world-class.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Technical leadership, attribute roadmap creation and calibration direction- Work with the stability control development team to meet attribute targets
- Vehicle target setting and development of KPIs to ensure system specifications meet expectations
- Support vehicle testing and test planning with calibration teams
- Management and leadership of calibration teams
- Working closely with Tier 1 suppliers, commodity teams, and development teams to understand the most effective calibration methodologies
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Stability controls at Jaguar Land Rover require optimisation on all surfaces whether road, track or off-road environments as well as integration with base chassis.
The role has accountability for the delivery of the system performance and the impact on vehicle dynamics against competitors and covers all aspects of stability control development from detailed requirements cascade for future programmes to final vehicle calibration.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential –
Significant experience tuning stability control systems on road vehicles- Significant knowledge of system fundamentals and future industry trends
- High level of demonstrable proving ground experience
- Excellent subjective vehicle assessment of steering, ride and handling skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Degree or relevant experience
Desirable –
Previous experience with stability controls systems from the key suppliers- Experience using data logging and calibration software tools
- SUV and BEV vehicle development experience
- Good working knowledge of the Product Creation Delivery System (or similar process)
