As our Tech Lead, you will report to our Director of Technology and will nurture passionate engineers to create next-generation software solutions for Threads. We are integrating our client and internal systems to create a next-generation solution to help us to lead in luxury chat-based commerce. We believe what we're creating will set a new path for chat commerce in the fashion industry, and retail overall.
At Threads, we always aim to use the best tool for the job. Today’s stack includes, but isn’t limited to: TypeScript, Node.js, Kafka, Postgres, React, React Native, GraphQL, Webpack, CircleCI, Docker, Terraform, and AWS.

This role and the team are hybrid based out of Telephone House in Shoreditch, London. This role does have in-office expectations because of how we operate as a team and business, and although we’re really open to what those are and how they work, this team does require 2 days a week together in the office.
We regret that we are not open to fully remote applications right now for this reason, but what we can offer is a flexible working approach which can be discussed per role and a host of team cultural activities and treats in our office.
Requirements:
You Will:
- Lead, nurture and mentor other engineers in the team through development, mentorship, and recruit and onboard new talent
- Contribute to one or several projects at all stages of their life cycle, not just the technical stages, but you may also be involved in problem discovery and product development.
- Design systems and solutions, writing code, automated tests and deployment.
- Set goals and development targets for the Engineers within the managed team and support the team with feedback and development plans as they progress;
- Work with the team’s product manager on designing and measuring the success metrics
You Have:
- Experience mentoring engineers
- Expert knowledge in developing services and API's using Node.js
- Commercial experience working at expert level using client-side, CSS, HTML5
- Knowledge of React development patterns and related tools
- Knowledge of AWS services or similar cloud environments
- A good knowledge of technology infrastructure
- A good working knowledge of architectural concepts like event driven development, caching, microservices, CDNs and concurrency.
