We are on a mission to electrify our vehicle product range!
You will be joining Nissan’s comprehensive Apprenticeship, with the aim of becoming a key part of a team of technicians and its management to influence the greener vehicles for a sustainable future.
Within our Research & Development Test workshop, you’ll become fully immersed hands-on with all aspects of vehicle development, instrumentation and test processes, leaving no stones unturned, along with formal training as you will be enrolled on a Level 4 Propulsion Apprenticeship with Milton Keynes College.
Summary
What you’ll need
- GCSE Maths and English Grade C/4 or above
- 1 A Level or 2 AS Levels at grade 5, a level 3 Engineering qualification or some relevant work experience for example as a technician or apprentice technician
- A full UK Drivers Licence or you can demonstrate a commitment to get your licence by the end of 2023
- Communication skills
- Problem solving skills

What you’ll be doing
- Working in various departments within NTCE Cranfield
- Developing and Deploying solutions to support our business
- Monitoring effectiveness of solutions and identifying further opportunities for development
We’re looking for people with an interest in vehicles, engineering, automotive technology, and desire to work in a hands-on role. It’s important that you are an effective communicator who enjoys working with others, as building great working relationships is vital. You’ll need to be enthusiastic, motivated, keen to learn and enjoy a challenge.
The apprenticeship will give a broad insight into the Design & Development process within the organisation through on-the-job training and work based learning in multiple test sections including:
- Engines
- Electric Vehicle Motor testing
- Vehicle Emissions
- Vehicle Body and Chassis
- Electrical Systems
- ADAS (Advanced driver-assistance systems)
- NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness)
- Aerodynamics
- Involvement in dynamic vehicle testing at proving ground test track facilities
Training to be Provided
Working at Nissan Technical Centre Europe
You will be based at our Nissan Technical Centre Europe (NTCE) in Cranfield, Bedfordshire 4 days per week!
Propulsion Technician – Level 4
Training with Milton Keynes College 1 day per week
Ongoing training, support and development with Nissan
Future Prospects
This is a well-established and highly respected apprenticeship, with many former test services Apprentices now working in Senior Test and Engineering roles within Nissan. Beyond completion of the apprenticeship, endless opportunities exist to the most ambitious of individuals….overseas travel, continued personal development, growth to management levels and a route into Design or Test Engineering to name a few!
