WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Who are we?
Volvo Car Financial Services UK (VCFSUK) is a financial services joint venture business, part owned by Volvo Cars and Santander Consumer Finance, operating across the UK Volvo retailer network, and also supporting the Polestar and LEVC brands. We have an exciting job opening within the Finance team as our Finance Manager based in our Maidenhead offices.
What you’ll do:
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead on planning and developing VCFSUK’s Finance strategy with specific focus on:
- the development of business and departmental strategic plans, ensuring alignment with the overall finance strategy
- controlling management accounts to include budgeting, monthly closing, reporting, cost management and procurement process
- controlling pricing area to include manufacturer and retailer level pricing, contract hire and new product pricing, as well as analysis and reporting on product level
- making recommendations to the company on impact of new issues and manage change
- investigating and implementing new approaches and techniques to report and reflect the direction of the company
- developing and implementing medium-term plans for the functional area including resource requirements, prioritisation and coordination of team to deliver strategy
- managing and supporting a small team of direct reports
- leading and providing support to the CFO and other senior management to report financial matters properly through regular committee meetings
- providing technical advice to the team and CFO
This position is considered a Certified Role under the FCA’s Senior Manager and Certification Regime (SMCR) and as such will be subject to significant criminal, financial and credit vetting checks.
Do you fit the profile?
- Due to the nature of the role the ideal candidate must hold a relevant accounting qualification, ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW or equivalent, and experience in consumer finance would also be desirable.
- Proven experience of managing finance functions including pricing/accounting and leading through change.
- The ability to have significant input into discussions at a senior management level and cross-functionally is essential so you will have strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coach, mentor and manage other professionals in the functional area to create a high-performing and motivated team.
- You will have a flexible and positive attitude, and be adaptable to tackle all necessary tasks required in this young, growing business.
- An appreciation of legal, regulatory and compliance issues relating to sales and customer management within the financial services sector is important, as well as familiarity with the FCA’s principles of business including the ‘treating customers fairly’ code of conduct.

- Salary £60,000-£65,000 depending on experience, reviewed and benchmarked annually
