Van Driver / Drivers Mate / Offloader
Hatt Contract Kitchens design, manufacture, load-out and install kitchens, appliances and worktops for a wide variety of the country’s most creditable developers and house builders, with specialist areas of expertise in the high-rise sector. Our ranges cover very simplistic kitchens, right through to bespoke custom for penthouse apartments in our capital city. We use the very latest finishes and materials, making non-standard size cabinetry for any scheme. We have the ability to manufacture our products to match perfectly the high-expectations of end users, whilst remaining very cost-effective for developers and clients. All this from our 60,000 square foot manufacturing base and HQ in Worcestershire.
Due to rapid company growth and continued expansion plans we now require an additional delivery drivers in our transport department to carry out direct deliveries to new housing sites across the country to help with the growing number of orders being scheduled, picked/packed and delivered direct to our customers on a daily basis via our own fleet of vehicles.
Essential Requirements:
· Excellent verbal communication.
· Ability to communicate effectively with Customers and Co-Workers.
· Attention to detail.
· Ability to work under pressure.
· Flexibility in approach to work (i.e. earlier starts on long distance runs).
· Must be physically fit due to nature of work and manual handling requirements on all deliveries.
· Numerate and literate.
Desirable Requirements:
· Previous experience of multi-drop, heavy and awkward item deliveries.
· Previous experience with scanning systems during loading/unloading
· Construction worker Green (Labourer) “CSCS” card
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Handle customer issues on delivery effectively and contact Transport Manager for assistance if required.
· To carry out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner.
· Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with current laws.
· Look after the vehicle and ensure that it is not subjected to unnecessary and preventable damage.
· Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle and specifically the driving cab at all times.
· To provide support in the yard as required by the Logistics Manager and/or despatch team.
· Adhere to all company policies and procedures, to include the Company Standards of Performance and Health and Safety Policy.
· Safe loading and unloading of goods from vehicles.
· Emptying and recycling any packaging on return.
Hours of work: 40 hrs per week + overtime on a regular basis (overtime paid at x1.5 from 1st hour above 40)
Days/hours of work: Monday to Friday only with start times ranging from 05:00 to 07:00
Salary: £10.30 per hour (potentially rising to £10.60 end of August after pay review)
