We are now looking to recruit a permanent Van Driver for our Virtuoso Doors Division delivering Doors and Panels Nationwide.
Job Purpose
The Driver role is all about ensuring the safe and timely delivery of our custom windows and doors. It’s a critical link between our manufacturing sites and our valued customers. The Driver will be responsible for transporting our products between sites and making sure they reach our customers in the same high quality condition they left our factories
Key Duties
- Carry out daily vehicle checks, using the MTP App, at the beginning and end of each day to inspect the delivery vehicle’s condition and carry out basic maintenance checks, promptly reporting any issues to uphold the vehicle’s reliability
- Ensure the safe unloading of a variety of bespoke windows and doors from the delivery vehicle, taking extra care to prevent any damage
- Operate the delivery vehicle in strict accordance with both traffic regulations and company guidelines to ensure the safety of both the driver and the cargo
- Adhere to strategically planned delivery routes to maximise efficiency, considering factors such as traffic conditions and delivery schedules
- Demonstrate professionalism and excellent communication skills when interacting with customers during the delivery process, providing assistance and addressing queries or concerns as needed
- Collect and label items for return from customers before delivering back to the factory along with all necessary documentation
- Thoroughly complete all necessary delivery related paperwork, including obtaining required signatures and accurately documenting delivered items. Return all completed paperwork to the Despatch office
- Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant environment by operating within Company systems, policies, procedures
- Demonstrate our company vision and values
Experience:
- Valid driver’s license suitable for the delivery van
- Prior experience driving delivery vehicles with a clean driving record
- Effective time management skills for punctual deliveries
- Strong customer service skills with a professional demeanour
- Attention to detail to handle products with care
- Proficient navigation skills using maps and GPS
- Physical stamina for loading and unloading doors and panels
What we offer:
Salary: £10.52ph (£26,257pa) + Enhanced Overtime Rates + Lunch Allowance + Loyalty Bonus
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday 48 hours guaranteed paid (May include overnight stays when required, Hotel and Meal provided) 5am Starts until run has finished
Location: Gateshead (Drops are Nationwide)
