Caltrol is looking for experienced technicians to provide field repair services for valves, actuators, and general valve instrumentation. You will also provide new installation, start up services, diagnostics, trouble shooting, and calibration services for valves, actuators and general valve instrumentation. Must be able to travel and have an excellent driving record. Salary Range: $27 - $33 p/hour DOE

What you'll be doing:
- Perform Field and Shop Service duties that include:
- Troubleshooting and repairing of valves, actuators and instrumentation at customer’s facilities or in the Caltrol shop(s).
- Retrofit and modification of valves, actuators and general valve instrumentation.
- Perform valve/actuator diagnostics and calibrations.
- Taking field measurements for design of retrofit valve mounting hardware.
- Designing mounting brackets and couplings to connect valves and actuators.
- Work closely with Outage Manager(s) and Routine Repair Coordinator(s) assigned to support the area.
- Recommending appropriate corrective actions based on equipment evaluation.
- Local Pick Up and Drop Off of valves as needed.
- Adhere to proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines
- May assist with shop assembly needs, shipping and receiving, and inventory management needs.
- Conduct customer training.
- Interact with customers to promote service business and assists with customer problem resolution.
- Interact with customers, factory and Caltrol Service Team to develop process improvement and increased customer satisfaction.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Valid Driver License, excellent driving record, and the ability to safely operate company vehicles.
- 2+ years experience as a field service technician, instrumentation technician, and/or demonstration of general electrical/mechanical competency.
- A working knowledge of process controls.
- Strong knowledge of valve actuators
- Works well under pressure: sometimes meeting multiple and conflicting deadlines.
- Strong Customer Service skills.
- Verbal and written skills to effectively communicate.
- Ability to read and interpret written work instructions, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
- Ability to evaluate technical data.
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams – single phase, three phase, AC and DC.
- Ability to understand and use electrical test equipment including: multi-meters, current generators, pneumatic actuators, and hydraulic actuators.
- Basic knowledge and use of personal computers.

Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Position requires frequent reaching, twisting, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching and squatting. Good visual and auditory acuity. Ability to understand and safely use hand tools. Use of Personal Protective Equipment when required. Proper use of hand tools. Ability to work on elevated platforms and confined spaces. Must be able to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Travel:
Pick-up and delivery of valves to customer sites. Periodic overnight travel.
