Valeter/Driver reportable to Branch Manager
Overall purpose:
To be able to safely and efficiently valet and drive vehicles to and from locations around the North West, in accordance with company policy.
Key responsibilities:
· To be able to clean the interior of a vehicle (Cars and Vans) in a timely manner
- Hoover throughout, footwells, seats, boot area and hard to reach areas with the crevice tool. Sweep the backs of a van out
- Polish the surfaces, dash, doorsills, centre console.
- Clean the glass, windscreen, door windows and rear window
- Clip in all seat belts ensuring working order
· To be able to clean the exterior of a vehicle (Cars and Van) in a timely manner
- Carry the bucket of soapy water to the vehicle
- Attach and use the hose pipe to wet the vehicle prior to brushing
- To use a telescopic brush to wash the vehicle, including roof of cars Inc. 4x4 and to the top panel of a van.
- To be able to bend and clean alloy wheels in the crevices.
- To be able to rinse off the soapy water once cleaned.
- To wipe down all sills inside the doors
· To be able to complete under the bonnet checks
- To be able to open and close the bonnets of different vehicles
- To be able to check oil level and refill when required
- To be able to check water level and refill if required
- To check windscreen washer fluid and refill if required
- To remove any debris from under the bonnet. E.g. leaves
· To be able to competently drive any of the fleet to and from branch. Including both manual and automatic vehicles.
· To be able to use the hand held Personal digital assistant (PDA)
- To be able to check and identify any damage on a vehicle
- To be able to add damage and or remove if applicable on the PDA
- To be able to make a vehicle available on the PDA including taking photos of the vehicle and the condition
- To be able to deliver and collect vehicles with the customers and using the PDA for the customer to sign and to be able to clearly explain to the customer each section
· To complete accurate daily logs including drivers logs, PDA log and fuel card log.
· Provide good customer service
- To be able to explain clearly to each customer the day to day running of the vehicle, e.g. how to use the SAT NAV, where the lights are and how to open the fuel cap
- To keep the customer informed if you will be late or having difficulty finding location – via office
- To be able to reverse park the vehicle in the customers desired location
· To wear company provided uniform and wear flat covered shoes, including displaying ID badges at all times.
· To be aware and compliant with the company policy and procedures
· Maintain customer and company confidentiality at all times
· Liaise with Branch Manager regarding annual leave
· To have a full valid UK driving License
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 16 per week
Salary: From £9.50 per hour
