Job description
UX/UI Designer for SaaS Project
Our challenge….
2023 is going to be a year of great change for our product. Over many years it has become fundamental to our operations and those of our 130+ e-commerce clients as an internal system. We are now taking the brave steps and branching out into the SaaS world and need to build a team of exceptional, innovative developers to take us there.
The software is a cloud-based solution for e-commerce order fulfilment. What does that mean? Well, fulfilment is where we hold stock in our worldwide warehouses, orders come into the system and they are picked and packed, shipping is calculated and then despatched to the customer. But it doesn’t stop there, for us to be able to receive orders we integrate with online marketplaces (like Amazon, Ebay, Wayfair, etc) and that’s still only part of the story….. we also maintain the listings of products, stock levels, price changes and adding new products, so our software does a lot!
The main functions are to manage our Warehouse, Fulfilment and Logistics platform from start to finish in a secure environment with the GCP as our bedrock. From inventory management to controlling orders across multiple e-commerce sales channels, the system is the backbone of our company and ensures our global warehouse locations operate at peak performance 24/7.
Your role….
Joining our team as our UX/UI guru will give you the opportunity to own this part of our development cycle and become a key member of our Development Team. As a growing technology focused company, we are moving a beloved internal software system (& Apps) to go play in the wider world. The system is very functional but doesn’t always look pretty and we know the front end needs some TLC, we just don’t have the time to do all the finishing touches and need someone who can just purely focus on our users’ experience.
We are not precious about the look and feel, so won’t be easily offended if you want to change things up, in fact that is positively encouraged. Our end users are very patient with us, but we know we can do better helping them interact with the software more effectively and give them a better all round UX.
We want to introduce more wizard-based workflows, so the users can be confident that they have covered all the steps they need, in what is at times a complex system, so you’ll need to be process driven in your design. There are lots of information we need to process orders and run a warehouse, the key for us is to not overwhelm the users and present the right data at the right time, so it’s obvious to them what the call to action is.
Think this may be you?
Are you someone who walks, talks, eats, sleeps, and dreams UX design?
You will be working with end users and the technical team to craft a modern, intuitive, and a responsive application, that not only looks good but gets the job done.
Responsibilities
· Design user interfaces with good user experience for an existing web application with a Mobile App (iOS and Android)
· Organise information gathered and create visualizations for client and team
· You’ll need to be able to present multiple design options, then organise workshops with the business and tech team, to collect feedback, then turn this into the final design.
· Set and maintain visual design styles and standards
· Collaborate with our Senior Architect & Product Owner, with you as leading the charge, so you should be able to work independently
· Ensure a seamless and polished user experience
· Manage your own time and workloads
·
Have you got?
· 3-5 years experience in designing customer-facing websites, desktop, and mobile applications
· Good understanding of the UX process
· Strong portfolio of user interface design work that demonstrates good UX
· Excellent collaborative and brainstorming skills
· Ability to deliver high quality work on tight schedules
· Attention to detail
If you have any logistics, warehousing, marketplace integrations, courier integrations or SaaS experience, that’s a big plus for us.
This role supports hybrid working, so a few days a week in the office and a few at home should give you time to collaborate face to face to work with the business to understand the jobs people need to do and some quieter time at home to work on your designs. You will be required to work at both our UK locations in Christchurch (BH23 4FL) and Bournemouth Airport (BH23 6NW)
More about us…

What’s the team like?
I’d say we are a pretty diverse bunch, who get along together very nicely. We come up with some brilliant ideas on how to solve the businesses issues, almost on a world domination scale at times! When we are not changing the world, we work with some of the latest technologies to design, build and tweak the software so it can become the best in class.
We are passionate about finding solutions to make the process of moving goods around the world as seamless as possible, so our customers and their customers get a great experience. All this commitment requires a little downtime now and again to catch our breath, so our weekly #coffeebreak is a great way to connect both our office and remote workers for ½ hour of fun, share ideas and find out what’s happening in the team.
This year is an exciting time for us with not only the software, but with our expansion plans becoming reality. It’s a great time to be involved in shaping our future. We look forward to meeting you.
