We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a talented Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team! The role will be predominantly working from home however, we do like to meet in person from time to time so there is a requirement to attend the Leeds office a minimum of once per month and on an ad-hoc basis for meetings, training etc.
Our finance team is the heartbeat of the Company – because they are responsible for the money! Finance is a global team mostly based in the UK but working collaboratively with our colleagues in the finance teams in China, the US and India. They support the business with quality, risk and audit, tax issues, payroll, invoicing, credit control, supporting creating of budgets and maximising profits and revenue to name a few! Things can get a bit manic when it gets to month-end and year-end, but the team works closely together to support each other to get the job done.
As Accounts Assistant you will:
- Help with the production of the monthly management accounts and the Board Pack
- Ensure the financials are accurate by posting the relevant prepayments and accruals
- Complete reviews of the P&L with commentary to highlight variances to budget and any trends
- Be an active member of the finance team and build relationships with Key Stakeholders around the business to ensure accurate reporting for all teams
- Help with the balance sheet reconciliations for all entities within thebigword
- Manage and prioritise ad hoc requests from both Finance and Key Stakeholders around the business.
- Assist at year-end with key tasks for the production of the statutory accounts and audit
- Increase your exposure to different parts of Finance and build your career within Management Accounts and the Finance team
- Can prioritise your workload to ensure all deadlines are met
- Have strong analytical skills with excellent attention detail
- Are a good communicator with excellent verbal and written skills
- Have the ability to challenge

- Have experience with Microsoft products, especially Excel
It would be desirable (but not essential) if you:
- Have experience within a similar role
- Have experience with CODA
