As the world’s leading illustrated non-fiction Publisher, we are looking for a natural problem solver and an individual with a strategic mindset to join our friendly team within the DK Digital Product & Web Development department.
This will be a great opportunity for you to show off your skills and knowledge as well as developing and broadening your creative / design skills.
About you:
We’re looking for a UX/UI Designer to join our Digital Development team to work on our range of digital products, across both web and mobile apps.
You’ll be working with a wide range of stakeholders to help deliver successful UX/UI improvements to products that are already live in order to improve usability and increase the value the products provide to the business, and also help to define the UX/UI for products that are in a very early conceptual phase and help us to bring these to market.
We are looking for someone that is a strong believer in an agile methodology, lean UX and an iterative design approach.
You will:
Gain an understanding of users of our various products and their needs, through reviewing analytics and conducting user research
Work to understand the aims, business goals and desired return and value the products are aimed at delivering to the business
Participate in daily stand-ups to provide updates and flag any issues or blockers
Work with the Product and Development teams to ensure concepts and designs are shared and accessible to developers, and that all accompanying information required is readily available ahead of the sprint starting
Collaboratively design, test, and develop solutions with your team
Ensure all UI designs you produce work well across all supported devices and viewport sizes
Define and validate hypotheses about what is valuable to our users and what would improve targeted metrics
Design products that are reliable, feel intuitive and ensure that users can achieve their goals quickly and easily
Track the results of any changes that are deployed to production in order to understand the impact of the change or launch of a product (whether positive or negative)
Present your designs in various meetings with a range of stakeholders, from sprint refinement, sprint planning, design reviews
Provide feedback during the development process to ensure the delivered coded and styling match designs
Help drive engagement in usability testing and research within the business using data to showcase the impact
Be familiar with various UX prototyping, user research, A/B testing and collaboration tools such as (but not limited to): Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Jira, Confluence, Slack, Google Cloud / G-Suite apps
