Fundamental to our digital growth plans is designing and building intuitive and inspiring digital experiences for our customers. As a result, we have an exciting opportunity for a UX/UI Design lead.

As a UX/UI Design lead, you’re responsible for championing our user needs through quantitative and qualitative user research and delivering intuitive and inspiring digital experience designs. You’ll be reporting to the Digital Director, as part of the wider marketing team, working with colleagues across STG, the wider Saga group and any external partner agencies. You’ll be instrumental in delivering digital experiences that not only enable and encourage users to buy our industry-leading holidays online but to manage their whole journey online and ultimately return to engage with us again.

You will bring experience and expertise across a variety of UX and UI design tools and have a genuine passion for user-centred design and designing experience that add value to users. You’ll work closely with the digital and marketing team, together with the product and commercial stakeholders across STG, to understand our key commercial and business goals. Working with stakeholders, you define and design solution to key user and product problem statements and opportunities. You’ll apply your knowledge and understanding of our audience into wireframes, mockups prototypes and final informed designs.

You’ll clearly articulate user research, insights and your considered designs to stakeholders, delivering at pace to support our digital transformation programme but also our ongoing optimisation workstream, addressing key customer pain points and conversion issues. You’ll champion design best-practice with your marketing and digital colleagues, driving an understanding of key principles across the business. It’s a varied, fast-paced role but hugely rewarding, exciting and in a growth area of the business.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead UX research to discover and define user needs and opportunities, utilising quantitative data, user replay and qualitative moderated & unmoderated user testing.
  • Enabling and supporting the digital sales, service and engagement transformation programme together with our ongoing optimisation workstreams with user-centred digital experience designs.
  • Completing clear user-stories and acceptance criteria to enable effective alignment of design to development and build.
  • Translating a deep understanding of our audience and user needs into wireframes, prototypes and iterative designs, utilising Figma or XD and our Saga digital design system principles.
  • Collaborating with our wider Saga Enterprise design team to ensure alignment with the wider Saga design principles, together with the wider Saga digital and design community to share learning and best practice.
  • Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive new initiatives forward.
  • The ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced and dynamic team, collaborating, whilst also contributing actively and autonomously.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Extensive UX/UI experience, able to understand detailed requirements, quantative & qualitative data and design user experiences to meet customer needs
  • Experience and understanding of industry best practice design principles including accessibility standards
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS and design for web constraints
  • Mobile responsiveness and accessibility in web design
