Job Summary
The Design Researcher conducts user research and evaluation, enabling exceptional user experience across digital touchpoints. Responsible for the user experience of customer-facing and/or employee-facing digital touchpoints across websites, and apps. Enables evidence-based strategy and design decisions through the execution of human factors research methods and skillful communication of the latest findings.

Job Responsibilities
- Works with strategists, designers, and business stakeholders to understand and support their research needs.
- Collects data, analyzes and summarizes and results and participates in presenting to UI design teams and product development decision makers. Participates in ongoing user experience research studies.
- Conducts studies and reviews others' research on human factors response to current and emerging technologies. Defines research questions, creating the research approach and plan, and selecting appropriate methods of data collection and analysis.
- May create research protocols.
- Participates in designing and conducting user experience research studies to support the development of product user interface (UI) designs. Conducts design research methods including observation/ethnography, diary studies, user interviews, usability testing, card sorting, etc.
- Participates in conducting user experience studies that test user responses to interface designs or methods including: website layouts, website maps, navigation design, content inventories, information organization models, error handling and icons.
- Utilizes qualitative and quantitative approaches to make sense of the data collected.
- Translates findings into easily understandable insights used to drive ideation and inform design, in diverse formats including experience maps, usability test reports, etc.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and at least 1 year of experience designing and/or analyzing qualitative user research data OR a High School Diploma / GED and at least 3 years of experience designing and/or analyzing qualitative user research data.
- Knowledge of the digital space.
- Experience building relationships with internal/external partners
- Experience working collaboratively within a team.
- Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
- Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
- Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
- Experience adapting to changes related to project needs and scope.
- Experience utilizing critical thinking, analysis, and creative problem-solving skills.
