The User Experience team within Information Technology is tasked with ensuring that everyone within Alpine F1 Team has a positive, relationship-building experience each and every time they interact with any IT-provided technology, system, service, or staff. We are involved with every area in the department, developing and encouraging best practice in user experience, communication, and engagement. As the I.T. Department’s role of technical and business services provider continues to diversify, we are increasingly called to liaise and consult on a wide range of projects. The better I.T. and the rest of the business understands one another, the more effectively we can help each other to build championship-winning cars.
The Role
The role of the User Experience Intern is to support the User Experience Lead in these efforts, fulfilling a wide range of responsibilities and tasks. These could range from assisting the User Experience Lead in day-to-day UX support tasks through to spearheading brand-new UX projects of their own. They will design and draft user-facing email messaging and other campaign collateral, use PowerPoint and other presentation tools to bring stakeholders onboard with new initiatives, and deftly navigate often complex political situations to deliver successful projects, all while keeping key strategic objectives in mind. They will have the opportunity to provide input on other creative topics such as branding, user interface design, and drafting training and educational materials.
Formula One is a rewarding, but high-pressure environment that challenges individuals to deliver excellence under tight cost and resource constraints. Every part of Alpine F1 Team is focused on developing race-winning technology, and the User Experience Intern will be a key part of developing the relationships, technology, and culture that will win future championships for the team
The Person
The User Experience team is the face of Alpine F1 Team IT, and so a customer-focused attitude is crucial. Previous experience in customer-facing roles is welcome, and a successful candidate will exhibit as many of the following traits as possible:
In addition, experience with the following would be beneficial, but not essential:
As one of just ten teams competing at the pinnacle of motorsport it would also be advantageous for an applicant to be familiar with or at least interested in Formula 1.
At present the I.T. department is working in a hybrid fashion but applicants should be able to easily attend the Enstone-based Factory as required.
