The role
The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is looking for a UX Designer to join on a fixed-term contract. This is a very exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate UX Designer to join our newly established User Experience team within the Technology Directorate.
You and your team will be tasked with creating brilliantly simple, innovative and intuitive digital experiences and products. You’ll be passionate about UX design and be eager to learn and advance yourself. You will be a champion for user needs and will advocate across the organisation for a user-centred design approach to solving problems. You will seek out and utilise the customer insight and feedback needed to ensure the continual improvement of the RSC user experiences.

The role

What we are looking for:
- Demonstrable experience of working in a user experience or product designer role
- Sound understanding of Human-centred design and Design Thinking and how they are applied to problem solving
- Track record of creating effective user interfaces
- Experience leading on the creation of user profiles and customer journey maps
- Ability to utilise the best interactive design practices
- Experience in usability testing your designs and prototypes
- Source and analyse insight to iteratively improve digital products
- Understand the importance of accessibility
- Any experience working in publishing, education or membership would be an advantage
