The role …
The role of UX Designer is important to us.
As part of the rapid expansion of the Radius group, several platforms have been added to the landscape through mergers and acquisitions. Each of these platforms has its own distinctive functionality and caters for different segments of the market but each has a different UI. We are now looking to unify and simplify the user experience across the board.
As a UX Designer in our technology division you’ll get to work across these group platforms, to harmonise the user interfaces and guide the implementation of new features and systems.
At Radius we’re constantly building new and exciting features that make our customers jobs much faster and easier and we know that user experience is extremely important to our customers. We’re looking for you to bring vision and plenty of design experience, be ready to take ownership of problems, and drive change.
If you love designing great user interfaces and you want to leave your mark on the future of vehicle tracking and fleet management then you’d be a great fit on our team.
We recognise that flexibility is important, so this role is available on a hybrid working model with time split between home and our impressive Crewe head office.
What would your day to day look like?
Reviewing existing applications to identify usability issues.- Conducting user research to facilitate data driven UX decisions.
- Establishing best practice for custom and common UI elements.
- Providing mock-ups and flows to development teams to improve UX.
- Discussing implementation concerns for proposed changes with development teams.
- Translating concepts into user flows, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
- Designing and delivering wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mock-ups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
- Identifying design problems and devise elegant solutions.
- Liaising with senior stakeholders, all the way up to CEO, to identify issues and propose solutions
- Taking a user-centred design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
- Asking smart questions, taking calculated risks, and championing new ideas.
What do we expect of you?
You’ll have proven UX design experience in a commercial setting, with a portfolio to be proud of!
Ideally your background will involve designing complex solutions for digital environments.
You wider experience and skills should include:
Expertise in standard UX software such as Figma, Sketch, Miro, InVision, Framer, etc- Ability to work with stakeholders to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet client needs and vision.
- Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
- A solid grasp of user-centred design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.
- Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
