UX Designer London, England

Metropolitan Thames Valley
Full Time London, England 41400 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Our customers and colleagues have high expectations. We want to use technology as an enabler for change, where everyone has the right tools, capabilities and services to deliver outcomes that reflect our values and exceed expectations. The Digital Team has an important role to play in achieving that. We are developing great customer-focused digital products that engage customers and their communities, inspire colleagues and drive business efficiency.

About the role

We’re looking for a talented UX Designer to help us create easy-to-use designs for our websites, intranet and digital products. The role is a balanced mix of UX and UI. Working with our lead UX/UI designer, researcher and content designer you’ll create prototypes, explore ideas and test designs. You’ll plan and conduct regular moderated usability testing, and establish new processes for unmoderated testing, to measure and improve how our digital products meet the needs of our users. You’ll be working with different areas of the business to translate complex information and processes into simple and easy to understand user flows and interactions.
You’ll need an eye for detail as you’ll be creating high fidelity UI visuals in Figma, ready for the development team to pick-up for coding.

What you'll need to succeed

You …

  • have strong experience designing responsive websites and an excellent knowledge of standard UX, UI and navigation patterns
  • be a natural problem-solver skilled at finding creative solutions to complex UX issues
  • have experience conducting usability testing and using the resulting customer insights to make UX improvements
  • have experience creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows and journey maps
  • have an exceptional eye for detail across design, layout and typography
  • are a strong communicator and confident explaining your ideas and presenting your work
  • have a comprehensive understanding of accessibility requirements
  • are an experienced Figma user
  • have an understanding of core web technologies (HTML, CSS and JavaScript) and web content management systems like Wordpress

Interviews are expected to take place on the 6th March 2023

What’s in it for you?

Our benefits include:-

  • 28 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays (pro rata for part time) per year
  • 2 volunteering days per year for things like helping out in local communities
  • An additional ‘Beliefs day’ once a year to have an extra a day off
  • Enhanced pension with matched contributions of up to 9%
  • Life assurance cover 3 x your salary
  • Health cash plan scheme for your everyday healthcare needs which you can add your family members too
  • Tenancy deposit – interest free loan to help with rental deposits
  • Access to extensive learning and training opportunities with Wisebox platform
  • Colleague virtual social platform with our workplace pages where you can keep up to date with the organisational activity and link in with colleagues
  • Career progression across the organisation with our mentoring programme and apprenticeships
  • We are committed to the wellbeing of our colleagues and support this as an organisation
