User Centric Designer
The team/department:
A new product team is being setup at the FCA in Leeds which will deliver products and product enhancements to our FCA colleagues using the new OmniStudio low code and integration platform of Salesforce. This is part of a major commitment to ensure that the regulator of financial services is equipped with suitable tooling for its vital role. Our users are excited at the prospect of rapid and high-quality delivery and populating this team with suitable capability and expertise is a priority.
What you will be doing:
- Become the leading design practitioner of a new, core and rapidly growing development platform within the Salesforce ecosystem.
- Lead and take responsibility for the design of Salesforce modules and integrations within an Agile team.
- Provide leadership for the team’s design activities and best practices.
- Oversee the adoption of design best practices within the team leading to self-optimisation and continuous improvement
- Work with Architects, Developers, Product Owners and User stakeholders to ensure alignment with design activities.
- Support Product Owners in their activities of prioritisation, planning and release activities within the responsibilities of your role.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, pride for the job done, psychological safety and team happiness.
The skills and experience you will have
Minimum:
We are a signatory to the Government’s Disability Confident scheme. - Extensive of UI/UX Development or Design Experience underpinned by solid understanding of user-centered design and interaction design principles.
- Experience of taking responsibility for the delivery of designs and related artefacts, complying with requirements, design standards and delivery constraints.
- Ability to approach design activities with:
- A user-centric mindset
- A creative and analytical approach
- Adaptability
- Attention to detail
- Experience of assessing existing information architecture/layout and flows, identifying areas for improvement, designing ‘to-be’ information architectures, layouts and flows.
Essential:
- Experience of creating prototypes, taxonomies and wireframes.
- Ability to collaborate with design peer-professionals to evolve and refine our design approach, ensuring visual cohesion and engineering efficiency across all user touchpoints.
Desirable:
- Familiar with a range of design tooling.
- Experience of at least one of HTML5, CSS3, and ES6.
- Experience of creating and using design patterns
- Business know-how: Understanding of business metrics and the ability to translate FCA goals and objectives into digital experiences.
- Ability to innovate in the selection and application of design practice.
