HEAD CHEF (ACCOMMODATION PROVIDED)
The White Lion is an 8 bedroomed traditional country inn. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and have a great reputation.
We require a full time Head Chef to assist in achieving higher standards and continued consistency in the food we produce from our kitchen.
We are seeking to recruit a chef with attention to detail using our selection of quality ingredients and provide dishes achieving standards that demand recognition well beyond our local area.
You must be able to coordinate, have precision timing, seasoning and the judgment of flavour combinations will be consistently excellent.
As a certified experienced Head you will be responsible in all aspects of kitchen management to keep up with safe working practises.
Work hours of the role are seasonal, with obviously busier months than others, you will be required to work to the demands of the business. A strong work ethic is required however we are modern employers and believe in a life balance too. We are a small team but work together to assist managing the business while keeping ourselves fresh, motivated and focused on our goals at being the best we can be constantly.
As we share a passion to work in hospitality it goes without say weekends are part of our working week. But we will plan holidays and be systematic to ensure Head Chef and Sous can operate and enjoy other commitments and life outside the business.
How hard will you work? Here is an indication on maximum covers:
Breakfast - 16
Lunch - 30
Dinner - 24 (16 residents & 8 Non residents)
The covers are not high we do not relay our resident tables, this means however we have to a produce a memorable experience for our guests with great food combined with perfect presentation. Your work will be maintaining high standards and controlling costs in the kitchen working to a set GP%.
This role requires you to have a driving license, situated in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales National Park you won't get a better view when having a break outside.
For the right candidate we can offer a live in option.
