We are looking to add to our talented team of Chefs and kitchen staff across two sites. Working at both sites is possible, although is not a requirement.
Drifters Kitchen Bar is a family run restaurant in East Wittering, West Sussex, a mere stones throw from the beach. We are passionate about serving freshly prepared, locally sourced food and drink with style and a modern twist in a contemporary, rustic and industrial, yet relaxed setting.
A perfect place to relax with friends & family. Our menu is Modern European, featuring small plates, fish and fresh meats. We offer a range of craft beers & ales, specially selected wines and spirits as well as non-alcoholic beverages to suit every taste.
Drift In West is a family run takeaway food and beverage service within the West Wittering Estate, West Sussex, surrounded by the natural and unspoilt beach.
We are passionate about serving freshly prepared takeaway food and drinks. It is important to us to provide both a fast and quality service which culminates in the ultimate customer experience.
Our varied menus cater to all food tastes, including vegetarian and vegan.
We are looking for various chefs to join our team. From Senior Chef & Kitchen Managers to Chef de Partie, Commis Chef and Trainee roles.
The Chef Role:
- Prep and keep stock of ingredients required for service
- Provide support to junior chefs in best practices, cleanliness standards and safety
- Follow the direction given by the Head Chef to prepare and present the meals
- Follow health codes and cleanliness standards in the food storage areas and kitchen
- Anticipate and communicate shortages to the Head Chef
The Senior Chef Role:
- Lead the kitchen team in all aspects of preparation, service and close
- Oversees and organises kitchen stock and ingredients
- Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organised for quality assurance
- Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimises waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns
- Supervises all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards
- Works with head chef to maintain kitchen organisation, staff ability, and training opportunities
Required Skills and Experience:
- You will ideally have previous experience within a fast paced restaurant kitchen.
- Adaptive organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- You will have a passion for your role and a motivation for continual learning – yourself and others.
- You will lead by example - hard working, have a positive attitude and an exceptional team player.

Part-time hours: 20-60 per week
Salary: Up to £13.00 per hour
