Underwriting Technician
Location: Eastleigh
Salary: Circa £25,000
We are recruiting for an Underwriting Technician to join our well-established team in Eastleigh. This role would suit a self-starter, who has an eye for detail and the ability to juggle different priorities. Don't worry if this is something new for you, full training will be provided, all you need are strong excel skills an interest and tenacity to want to succeed in the role!
A bit about the job:
This role exists to support our large Corporate Private Medical Insurance (PMI) Underwriting team. You will be responsible for mailbox management, working closely with internal stakeholders, ownership of pricing preparation on new business quotations, renewals and signing off internal onboarding documents for large corporate PMI schemes. Additionally, you will assess and prepare large corporate private medical insurance new business quotations and policy renewals in readiness for pricing. You will work closely with our distribution and underwriting team to mitigate financial risk through the ownership of internal onboarding controls.
We would expect the successful candidate to progress in the role to achieve accreditation via Technician Academy.

- Excellent communication skills both verbal and in written, can communicate effectively with stakeholders at different levels
- Strong numerical skills, can handle large quantity of complex business data and good excel skills
- Good organisation skills with the ability to prioritise work according to urgency
- Problem solving skills, be able to work independently to identify problems and solve problems to a satisfactory outcome
- Proactive, showing initiative when completing tasks by pre-empting issues and proposing solutions for them

- Starting salary of Circa £25,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
