We are have an excellent opportunity for an Underwriting Assistant to join a high performing team at HDI Global Specialty, a London Market Specialty Insurance and Reinsurance provider based in their London office at 20 Gracechurch Street with the role offering a hybrid working pattern. We are looking for a bright, hard working individual with office experience and good literacy and numerical skills to join this team who work with select high net worth UK based clients.

What you will be doing:
- Supporting the UK Delegated Authority Team in administering the UK DA portfolio.
- Assisting the UK DA Team in improving underwriting analysis and performance across the portfolio
Key accountabilities
1. Underwriting Administration
- Underwriting administrative tasks including document management (new business and existing), referral logging, new business tracking, and meeting minutes
- Technical and processing support to Underwriters including assistance with financial reporting, underwriting template completion, audit finding implementation, and run-off administration
- Liaise with Technical Accounting on reporting and responding to emerging issues
2. Managing Relationships
- Liaising with agents and brokers on behalf of Underwriters
- Provide professional and courteous service and support to agents, brokers, colleagues, HDI Global Specialty branch networks and clients
- Provide technical / information support to other departments
3. Claims
- Maintain regular dialogue with the Claims team to ensure early identification of issues and significant developments
4. Project Management
- Support Underwriters with Team projects as required
5. Reporting
- Monitor KPI’s and data packs provided by clients on a monthly basis
- Analysis of regular reporting, data quality monitoring, preparation of account summaries, and MI tracking
- Review and consolidation of agent bordereaux
Skills & experience
A-level or equivalent or higher
A good of understanding of insurance and underlying principles desirable
Interest in working in underwriting and insurance
Previous insurance experience desirable
Office experience desirable
