Job description
Responsibilities:
- Assist and advise sales team in structuring of new business deals, lead underwriting and approval process.
- Perform credit analysis of Accounts Receivable, Financial Statements and Individuals to determine if proposed transaction fit withing the SCF risk appetite.
- Create legal documentation for all new prospects, raise amendments/side letters/landlord waivers etc. for existing clients. Negotiate legal documents where applicable.
- Produce internal credit memorandum for new business proposals, answer all sanctioner(s) questions, ensure pre-funding and post-funding condition are met.
- Assist with underwriting support, file new UCCs, run credit & background searches.
- Work with Operations team for prospect take on, first funding, verification and payout. Ensure a smooth transition with client onboarding.
Requirements:
- Strong data analysis skills and analytical/quantitative mindset.
- Must balance risk with commercial goals of the business. Should be pragmatic and practical.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Self-starter, desire to learn and grow.
- Previous knowledge of commercial lending, factoring or asset-based lending.
- Excellent time management, ability to manage multiple workflows.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of US bankruptcy/restructuring law – C7, C11, DIP Financing, receiverships, assignment for the benefit of creditors and other specialized legal situations.
- Experience of Inventory, Purchase Order, Equipment and Real Estate financing.
- 0-2 years experience in factoring industry, asset based lending industry or commercial finance/banking.
- Some knowledge of the Canadian legal systems and/or Canadian secured finance industry would be beneficial but not required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting/Business/Economics/Finance/Math/Statistics or similar area.
