For nearly 70 years, AWE has been at the forefront of nuclear weapons research and development. We have a critical mission: to provide the warheads for the UK’s ultimate deterrent – Trident. We also use our unique skills to provide wider UK government with counter-terrorism and nuclear threat reduction solutions.

You will also gain knowledge and experience of industry best practice within the Project Management discipline.
Exact taskings will depend on the projects available at the time. You can expect to be assigned independent projects, supporting the scoping, planning, and estimating of future activities, and the delivery of technical projects for the maintenance and upgrade of control systems, electrical systems and pulsed power systems. During this, you will be supported and mentored by experienced project personnel, well versed in AWE processes.
There are 3 exciting opportunities for placements within the Trials and Test Technology Centre. Interested candidates will most likely be studying a STEM, Project Management or Business Management degree (or module).
