Job description

Our purpose focuses on how we contribute to society, and how our business decisions can contribute to greater trust and solving important problems. In order to achieve our purpose and deliver a first-class service to our clients, we need first-class support internally. The people who power us - our internal teams - have a vital role to make sure we have all the right resources, services and technology to be the best we can be. Not all of us work directly with external clients. Some of our most talented people choose to harness their skills inside of PwC.

Learning and Development

The Learning Experience team sits within our Learning and Development (L&D) team at PwC. Learning and Development are responsible for providing both mandatory and additional soft skills training to staff within PwC as well as self registered upskilling opportunities.

Our aim in Learning Experience is to effectively convert programme designs into an implementation plan, overseeing the event management of L&D programmes. Your role as a Course Executive will be to support our Course Managers as well as the wider teams in organising and implementing staff training and events, and supporting the sessions whilst they are running (onsite and virtually).

Programme

These eleven-month placements are for students who need to complete a placement as part of their degree. You could sit a selection of professional accounting exams and leave with a graduate job offer to fast track into a second year role upon graduation. You’ll work alongside graduate trainees and experienced professionals on live and interesting client projects. So you’ll get a good insight into working life at PwC.

What you'll do

  • Provide advice on logistics and on effective use and presentation of learning materials, on our internal learning management system (LMS)

  • Identify and source suitable training locations and venues, as well as ongoing monitoring of these (such as their quality and the external spend and value for money)

  • Providing on-site support at our training events

  • Source suitable tutors /facilitators / key speakers where applicable.

  • Ensure joining instructions (or other communications) are written and sent to the relevant stakeholders

  • Ensure that printing shipments and material orders are complete where applicable.

  • Work with external supplier management to negotiate rates (where applicable) and ensure that contracts are in place and correct

  • Operate as primary link with Conduent (our outsourcing provider) to drive execution of administrative tasks and respond to queries

  • Ensure operations are standardised and simplified wherever possible

  • Ensure adequate processes are in place to match supply and demand for the programmes in line with the budget (including proactively monitoring and managing pathways, audience capacity and waitlists)

  • Maintain accurate records of programme participation, through running regular participation reports (including for internal and external audit purposes)

  • Produce operational and evaluation reports for analysis

  • Work comfortably as part of a virtual team and develop/maintain effective business and peer relationships.

  • Liaising with the business to help set up new sessions, provide reporting and resolve queries/problems

What you'll gain

By experiencing life inside one of the world’s largest professional services organisations, you’ll have a fantastic opportunity to build and work on your commercial and personal skills. Working alongside specialists, you’ll work on projects to give you the best insight into what we’re about. You’ll have the opportunity to build networks with your colleagues and peer group - factors which will make a real difference when you return for your last year at university.

What you'll need

You'll need to have achieved or be on track to pass an undergraduate degree or above in any subject. We determine whether you're on course to pass based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study.

You'll need to be a second year undergraduate university student on a four-year degree expecting to do a work placement in your third year.

Other required skills are:

  • Project management, time & organisational skills.

  • Goal orientated – maintaining focus on agreed objectives and deliverables.

  • Commercially orientated – keeping commercial aspects continually in mind when taking actions or making decisions.
