BAT UK IS LOOKING FOR AN UNDERGRADUATE INTERN – ANALYTICAL SCIENCE – fixed term 12 months

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?
Analytical Science provide analytical data and insights to support product development and test a variety of products using a vast array of analytical techniques. As part of the team, the intern will be working on an assigned project that they will have to manage.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
- Supporting analytical testing for existing and novel products;
- Designing and contributing to Study Plans and Study Reports;
- Providing input on analytical science and evaluation of resulting scientific data;
- Applying compliance with quality systems and requirements to ensure robust analytical processes;
- Keeping stakeholders informed of progress through formal and informal communications;
- Acting as part of a team.
CAN THIS BE YOUR FUTURE ROLE?
- Are you an undergraduate student undertaking an industrial sandwich degree course with a placement year for the 2023/2024 academic year?
- Are you familiar with gas or liquid chromatography?
- Are you familiar with infrared or UV-visible spectroscopy?
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related subjects;
- Relevant course in analytical science (chromatographic, spectroscopic techniques);
- Good attention to detail with a keen problem-solving attitude;
- Creative, flexible, receptive to change, focused and able to deliver.
