Field Service Technician UK
The Field Service Engineer's role is to provide professional service and support for local Reiser customers by performing field service installation, start up, repairs and maintenance of Reiser equipment. The Field Service Technician will work within the guidelines established by Reiser ensuring customer issues are resolved in a timely manner and that the customer is left feeling cared for.

Essential Functions:
As a customer-focused technical product expert, the Technicians will apply highly developed troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical skills, and sound knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic control systems to install new food and packaging machinery equipment. Additional tasks include providing preventive maintenance and on-site equipment repair.
Job Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Daily travel (during the week) away from home visiting food plants which may require overnight stays.
- Installs, troubleshoots, and maintains Reiser sold equipment
- Read diagrams, schematic drawings, engineering specifications and service manuals to determine work procedures.
- Communicate regularly with service leads, customers, sales, technicians, engineering and workshop
- Share information with team members, customers, and your manager to help prioritise and keep customer apprised of corrective actions and equipment status.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices across the spectrum of the line of equipment Reiser sells (processing/packaging)
- Equipment Maintenance –perform routine maintenance on equipment and necessary training
- Troubleshooting - Identifies, analyses failures, determine causes of operating errors and taking action to remedy the problem
- Record Activity – complete (job tickets) service reports, record repairs and maintenance performed
- Seek and obtain and retain sufficient product knowledge to ensure work is competently performed
- Active knowledge of proper tool selection and troubleshooting techniques necessary for installs and repairs and equipment maintenance
- Adhere to all safety guidelines established by both Reiser and the customer
- Engage with customer on site, analyse equipment performance, troubleshoot to isolate problem, and determine actions needed to restore system to performance specifications.
- Inform customers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.
- Participate as necessary in new projects to install or improve the safety and performance of existing and new equipment.
Requirements:
Qualified Multi skilled engineer with 5 years post apprenticeship experience
- 2-4 years of experience in the field service industry, and/or food industry knowledge
- Practical application of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and techniques to ensure equipment performance at manufacturers specifications.
- Apprenticeship or equivalent Electro-mechanical experience preferred
- Previous experience and knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and motor control circuitry required
- PLC's with Ladder Logic knowledge
- Must be able to read and understand electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams
- Ability to read, write and understand English required
- Excellent customer relationship management skills are a must
- Possess a full, valid driver's license
- Daily travel during the week – mostly regionally, however flexibility if required to travel farther afield and stay away if job requires.
- A 'Can do' attitude
- Food Processing Machinery experience is desired (servicing, troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical machinery)
