This is a part-time weekday only, year-round position in which counselors provide after school care for elementary school
aged participants in a recreational setting at community centers in the City of Raleigh. Counselors would oversee groups
during passive/active games, assisting with homework while also implementing the activity schedule. The curriculum
includes but is not limited to:

• Arts and Crafts
• Recreational Games including active and passive games
• Food Experiences
• Dance/Drama/Movement
• Science and Nature

• Maintain a positive attitude
• Provide direction and motivation for participants in the program
• Lead and participate in all activities with participants.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, participants, and parent/guardians.
• Monitor participants for safety, and address behavior concerns when necessary.
• Documents and/or relay accident/incident information to appropriate staff
• Modify activities as needed or provide reasonable accommodation for participation.
• Attend and participate in all required trainings, staff meetings, and parent engagements.

• Experience interacting and leading children in a childcare setting.
• Effective and enthusiastic oral communication; detailed written communication.
• Professional, flexible, mature attitude
• Leadership experience and initiative preferred
• Ability to complete required trainings and attend meetings
• Minimum age 16 years
