Hours: Monday to Friday 08.00-17.00 (with half hours unpaid break)

Location: DHL Aviation at London Heathrow Airport

Grade: P

Expected Apprenticeship duration: 17months

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Commercial air purchasing and management – learning how to purchase space on commercial airlines

  • Writing and Reading Contracts for UK operations

  • Working with Borderforce, Police, Civil Aviation Authority, Heathrow Airport, European counterparts

  • Analyse all commercial data – using all DHL internal systems

  • Presenting data to internal stakeholders / external partners such as a carriers

  • Extensive use of Excel

  • Some use of Power Bi to present data

  • Using rate sensitive information for pricing to secure contracts

  • Day to day commercial operations – time with all departments to understand the business

  • Competition compliance training required

  • Confidentiality is required at all times

  • Attend external meetings with management team

Training you will undertake includes:

  • Scenario demonstrations with questioning

  • Professional Discussion

  • Online portfolio to update with learning and development

  • Diarised virtual appointments with a dedicated Learning Coach

  • Attendance to training sessions, workshops, masterclasses (online)

  • Additional training to take place to develop knowledge, skills, and behaviours in accordance with this Apprenticeship standard.

Qualifications that you will gain:

  • L3 Data Technician apprenticeship standard with Microsoft Excel Certification and Power BI expertise
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths (if required)
