The role:
We are passionate about using technology to transform the student rental market and our rapidly growing utility management service takes the hassle out of shared bills for students, making their lives easier.

You will report directly to our Director of Product and Technology and will work alongside engineers, Product Managers and other teams to guide UI / UX design choices and front end development, ensuring brand identity and current best practices are adhered to and at all times remaining aware of our end users needs and expectations.
A great Product Designer will be curious and creative, have empathy for the users of our product, and be a skilled visual designer. You will be up to date with the latest industry and cultural trends, and have a passion for user experience and behaviour, A/B testing, and feature efficiency. You should be obsessive about improving the experience our users have when using our product.
You will enjoy challenges, be open and transparent about the problems you face, and will enjoy helping our users and colleagues resolve the problems and challenges they face. You are able to take complete ownership of delivery of tasks, projects or solutions, either individually or as lead of a team, and enjoy researching and brainstorming new ideas and suggestions.
Key responsibilities:
Being responsible for designing and maintaining an intuitive and cohesive UI/UX product strategy- Reviewing and approving all UI and UX decisions (both tactical and strategic)
- Collaborating with users, product managers and engineering teams to understand product requirements and design solutions that meet business and user needs
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs using Figma
- Work with developers to ensure designs are implemented as intended
- Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions
- Keep up-to-date with emerging design trends and technologies
Skills and experience:
A deep and demonstrable knowledge of user interface and user experience design (Bachelor's degree and / or equivalent 3-5 years industry experience)- Experience with Figma or a similar collaborative interfacing design tool
- Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs
- Experience carrying out user-interviews and identifying user pain-points
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Strong communication and team working skills
- A portfolio showcasing your design skills and process
- A passion for doing things the right way
Preferred experience:
Experience designing for web and mobile applications- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
Interview process:
There's 4 steps to the interview process.
We’ll review your application internally.- If you have the qualities we are looking for, we’ll schedule an initial video call with our Talent Acquisition Manager and Head of Engineering. This is fairly informal and gives us an opportunity to explore your skills and experience further, talk more about the role to ensure both parties are happy to proceed. This usually takes no longer than 30 minutes.
- If we’re all happy to proceed, we’ll invite you to visit our office for a more formal interview with the hiring panel including the Head of Engineering. You will be asked to present a creative brief to our Director of Product and Technology. This will usually take 30 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of interview questions.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 DOE
