The Role: UI Software Engineer – Summer Intern

The Location: London, United Kingdom

The Team: Financial Risk Analytics UI Development team. An agile UI development team using cutting edge tools to provide an intuitive user experience for Front Office and Risk users from a host of Financial Markets clients.
The Impact: The UI team provide client facing tools for users to explore complex risk metrics and visualize the impact on their market and credit risk exposures. Integrating with a complex and interactive suite of analytic services.

This role provides an opportunity to work across the full range of products FRA offers. Work as part of a globally distributed business, interacting with product managers and peers across many development streams.
Gain excellent hands-on development experience working as part of an EMEA based software development team whilst interacting with a wider global team. Implement real features, working on User Interface design and development, RESTful Services, Devops. All with a cloud hosted focus and with training and support on hand.

The Summer 2023 Internship Program will provide you with a variety of experiences to help you identify your strengths, develop highly transferable skills, and align you to a successful career path for a bright future at S&P Global.

Responsibilities:
Implement new product features using Typescript and React.js
Work as part of a development team spread across multiple time-zones
Learn about the development lifecycle, best practices and implement changes using CI/CD
Contribute to testing of user stories, features and releases

What We’re Looking For:
Candidates working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent), completing no later than June 2024.
This program is aimed at students with 0-6 months relevant full-time work experience.
Demonstrated passion or interest in one or more of our key industries
Excellent communication skills.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
The ability to build strong working relationships in a collaborative setting.

UK Eligibility
We’re looking for students in their penultimate year students who are working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent), and due to complete their studies and be available for a full-time role commencing in 2024.

To be eligible for our summer internship you must have the right to work full-time now and in the future. We currently do not offer visa sponsorship; however, we do run our programs in several locations across the globe and welcome you to consider those that are relevant to you.
