About the role
We are recruiting for a Design Assistant on a permanent, full time basis. This is a new role and an exciting opportunity to join our busy team in creating visual assets for one of the UK’s leading tour operators.
The purpose of this role is to support our Designer in the creation and management of all British Airways Holidays design requirements from across the business, from internal comms to external advertising campaigns.
Key accountabilities include:
- Creating artwork, including layouts, imagery, and copy setting, for a mix of print and digital collateral, ensuring all work is to a high standard
- Contribute to presenting ideas and designs and developing these through research
- Proofing and supply of all artworks, ensuring high quality output
- Adhering to brand guidelines across all design elements and contributing to any design improvements
- Accountable for scheduling and producing to the required timescales
Our essential criteria for this role are:
- Proven experience of using graphic design tools, ideally from Adobe Creative Suite – such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, Premier Pro and Acrobat
- Excellent graphic design skills and a good understanding of contemporary design trends
- Proven experience of taking a concept and creating a practical design
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent creativity and innovation
A Graphic Design Degree or other recognised qualifications would also be beneficial.
To help you decide whether you would like to apply for this role, as a guide, a typical salary in this role is around £23,000 - £24,000 per annum (this may vary depending on your relevant skills and experience), plus benefits.
Our offices are based just outside Gatwick Airport and we offer hybrid working (within the UK). Generally, this role works from our offices twice a week, with additional days as needed depending on meetings etc. Office days are co-ordinated so that colleagues in the same team are in the office together to collaborate in person. We usually support new colleagues in the office full time for the first month with us. We offer flexible start and finish times.
