Hello World!

We are looking for talented and passionate individuals to join our team to help us accelerate the development of technologies supporting vulnerable people in staying safe, healthy, physically active and socially connected.

We are a small team creating a digital content delivery app that includes text, image, and video/animation features. Our app also allows users to self-organise into chat groups and engage in social activities. Each team member has their area of expertise and responsibility in delivering intuitive experiences to app users.

The breadth of your work will cover evolving our proposition, establishing design processes & standards, and designing delightful experiences enabled by our mobile and web applications.

We are committed to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion, and we welcome applications from all backgrounds.

What you will do

This is an exciting new role for a talented and experienced UI Designer with a passion for delivering exceptional user experiences to join us. From day one, you’ll work closely with our team, project partners, advisory board, customers and end-users to shape the future of Tendertec’s products.

  • Simplify highly complex user journeys, making it easier for users to find what they're looking for, through improved information design and strong focus on mobile
  • Work with our Service Designer to deliver cross-channel solutions that solve customer problems, bringing your UI and UX expertise to the table
  • Collaborate with our mobile and web developers to deliver intuitive user interaction experiences.
  • Apply atomic design principles to create functional, accessible and scalable patterns
  • Ensure final designs are on-brand, bringing our brand to life
  • Create engaging assets such as icons, animations and other graphics
  • Be responsible for delivering pixel perfect design, from defining detailed specifications for developers, through to QA and launch
  • Evangelise design system thinking and best practices within our team and the wider business
  • Work with our marketing & brand team to create guidelines for the unified & consistent expression of our brand across our digital products
  • Deliver measured improvements to customer experiences across web, mobile app and internal systems

Requirements

Your Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience building cross device experiences ideally for social brands
  • Expert in using interface design e.g. Figma to create & maintain pattern libraries that serve both designers & developers
  • Experience with building and maintaining mature design systems, and able to shape our strategy
  • Strong understanding of branding and designing for intentional emotive responses
  • Expert in creating responsive UI designs, with an understanding of modern platform design standards & frameworks (grid systems, spacing etc)
  • Expert understanding of typography, colour, layout and visual design principles
  • Experience with designing for accessibility, with a good understanding of WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and how to meet these criteria
  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS, enough to understand how development techniques impact design and to help communication with developers
  • Experience incorporating motion and animation into interface design
  • Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle
  • Some experience building SaaS style products, even if just used internally
  • Ideally some experience in building solutions for either the health, social care or ageing sectors.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Valid UK work permit

When working with us, you will be expected to promote Tendertec's core values and ethos, understand the importance of data protection laws and protocols within your role, and abide by them at all times.

If you have a strong background in mobile app development, are a self-disciplined, autonomous worker with a passion for delivering exceptional user experiences, we would love to hear from you.
