Provide G2 speech recognition duties to support all medical secretaries within the Stroke Dept who support the consultants workload. Other duties will include include filing results, retrieving/ distributing case note files from all areas of the trust, tracing hospital records using the hospital information system, typing ad-hoc correspondence using Microsoft Word in addition to collecting post. Other duties incorporated and subject to the ever changing needs of providing a specialised patient service.
1. To provide G2 speech recognition duties to support the medical secretaries in a timely manner in order to meet the required timescales set by management team.
2. To retrieve & deliver patient’s case notes from the hospital’s filing departments, or other parts of the hospital when required in order to support the team demands. Use of a trolley is required. You are responsible for the correct loading of the case note trolley and must not overload.
3. Tracing hospital records using the Hospital Information System.
4. Assist with the photocopying and distribution of information and case notes as required.
5. Filing of documentation.
6. Any other general office duties i.e. answering the telephone, taking messages etc. as and when required. Other duties, which can be subject to change in order to meet the demands and the ever changing services in order to support a team of Medical Secretaries.
7. You will be responsible for your actions and omissions in terms of health and safety and agree to attend all mandatory training and adhere to the guidelines at all times.

To enter all patient information on to the departmental/hospital computer systems ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and compliance with departmental/Trust data quality guidelines.
Clinical transcription/editing of clinical letters via the G2 Speech Recognition System to support the Medical Secretaries in order to meet the required timescales set by the management team.

Must remain highly confidential when dealing with any information regarding patients.
You will be responsible for your actions and omissions in terms of health and safety and agree to attend all mandatory training and adhere to the guidelines at all times.
Responsible for participation in the Trust appraisal process, identifying own mandatory professional, personal development and training needs.
Any other general office duties i.e. answering the telephone, taking messages etc. as and when required. Other duties, which can be subject to change in order to meet the needs of the service, including the implementation of any new IT systems.
