Job description
At the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), we have a great opportunity for someone who is motivated, enthusiastic and a strong teammate who strives to deliver the best possible outcomes for learners by improving their potential to make positive progress towards timely success.
We want you to join our team of Tutors to teach CNC programming, CAD and drawing to our level 3 and 4 apprentices. You may be required to deliver other related subjects. Our team focuses on the classroom knowledge teaching of apprentices and is part of a larger team of specialists including workshop trainers, academic staff, and workplace coaches, working together to deliver excellent education and training to our apprentices.
We want you to contribute to maintaining and developing our welcoming, inclusive, diverse, and inspiring environment for our apprentices within the AMRC Training Centre, with expertise that will complement and improve our existing teaching capabilities.
The AMRC Training Centre provides apprenticeship education and training to apprentices who are based in the Sheffield City Region and nationally, to provide a solution to the skills shortage experienced by our industrial partners. Our curriculum focuses on manufacturing from L3 Advanced Apprenticeships, through to L4 Higher and L6 Degree Apprenticeships. Our apprentices are motivated and committed and are keen to share their experiences of manufacturing.
For this role, you will:
- Hold a Level 4, or higher, qualification in Engineering/Manufacturing
- Proven teaching ability in CAD, CNC programming and drawing, ideally with a teaching qualification at Level 3 or above.
- Have some engineering industrial experience.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as experience of working across and within teams to plan and progress projects.
We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
