Location: Syon Manor College, Isleworth, Greater London
Salary: from £36,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications
- Starting from £28,000 (Unqualified Teacher/Instructor)
- Starting from £32,000 (ECT)
- Starting from £36,000 per annum (Qualified Teachers)
Hours: 38.5 Hours per week; Monday to Friday 8:30 to 16:30
Contract: Permanent (Part Time available on discussion at Interview)
Are you an Engineering Tutor committed to improving the lives of children and young people with a passion in this field of employment?
Syon Manor College are looking for a passionate Engineering tutor who has expertise in delivering Project based Woodwork and Carpentry skills and any further higher qualifications in this field of employment. The successful candidate will join an up-and-coming team of like-minded professionals within a new Specialist Post 16- Further Education setting. Ideally, you would have experience working with learners in a post-16 setting and have an ethos centred around care and development.
Any experience from candidates with standards verification, moderation or marking examinations would be welcomed.
The successful candidate will have an excellent track record in teaching and demonstrate commitment to achieving the best for each student. To support the successful member of staff, there is a highly effective college CPD programme in place that encompasses the development of digital skills as well as teaching and learning; in addition to this, candidates are encouraged to undertake external CPD funded by the college.
The post requires a qualification in a related field or experience within the trade of work and experience within Education – QTLS route + ECT’s are encouraged to apply.
Purpose of Job
- To secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all students in consultation with the Head of College.
- To teach a range of subjects as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the College’s curriculum. Work may sometimes be undertaken outside the main teaching area - this may include off site locations including college settings.
- In consultation with the Head of College undertake other identified areas of responsibility as necessary to ensure effective delivery of the College’s curriculum.
- To share the College’s responsibility to support and promote the learning, personal development, and well-being of all students.

Syon Manor College is a new post-16 provision for young people with autism and complex needs. The college will offer a broad curriculum of academic, vocational and life skills learning including BTECs, GCSEs, Functional Skills and ASDAN accreditations which will work towards Employability or Independence and Duke of Edinburgh qualifications.
For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to children, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties.
